Private gardens are a major contributing factor to the beauty and leafiness of our suburbs and a garden competition is a way for Council to recognise and reward those individuals that are making our area such a beautiful place to live. Bringing local gardeners together for the event also helps to build a sense of community and creates connection between councillors, council staff and the local community.

The use of qualified and experienced professional judges gives the event credibility and allows Council to remain independent of the decision-making process. It also gives all entrants the opportunity to engage with a highly qualified horticulturist and garden design specialist during the judging process: For many local gardeners this is one of the major attractions of entering. The Professional Garden Judges have been providing North Sydney Council with professional independent judging of our event for many years and we have been extremely happy with the service.”
